Good design is intuitive not to the designer’s intuition, but to the user’s intuition, the user’s conformity. In the video, Norman defines affordances as “perceived or practical properties, primarily those essential to determining how to use them”. At the same time, he suggests that affordability will change due to personal changes.
The central question of affordability theory is not whether such information exists or is real, but whether it can be perceived in ambient light. (Gibson, 1979). Gibson’s approach does not fundamentally distinguish humans from other animals. The assumption of the mutual nature of animals and their environment, and the arguments based on that assumption, which underlie the theory of revelation, are general enough to apply to any animal.
